American Camera? Err.... I don't know any American brand that makes cameras... :rolleyes:

Apple using the integrated GMA950 is a bunch of crap... They just went cheap, it has NOTHING to do with power savings. Even an old Radeon Mobility 9700 would be better. I can't understand why Apple chose to do this seeing how they don't support it with some of their own software (FCP, Motion). They should have at least offered an upgrade option or put the GPU option in the blackbook only or something.

The only reason Apple has graphically crippled the MBs is to force more people to buy the much more expensive, and profitable MBP, on buyers whose only need beyond a stock MB is .... a graphics chip.
Really, how much does Apple "save" by using IG vs. a cheap 64MB graphics chip .... certainly under $50. So offer it on the top-of-the-line BlackBook, and bump the price an extra $100, and it would sell through the roof, even more than it currently does. But Apple wants to squeeze every extra $$ out of its customers, so we aren't given the BTO option of a graphics chip in a MB, forcing us to spend an extra $1k for MBP, when all that many want/need is the chip.

To me, your user name perfectly sums up the risk of messing with your Dock. There are all kinds of threads on this forum from (usually novice) users who run into big headaches from doing what you propose to do. If you were an expert user, you wouldn't be asking this, you'd know what to do and what not to do.

Strange question: can you use the Firmware Restoration CD to update your firmware? This disc is designed to fix a bad update from CD, bypassing the hard disk and the RAID array. Seems to me that it should work, in theory.

Yes, that's what I finally paid my $500 for: to get the head start this time around. WWDC from Australia is just a "little" too much for me.

It would be great if the iPhone went to another carrier especially T-Mobile since they are lacking a real flagship device. But i keep thinking for some reason that as much as AT&T and Apple are like a married couple that argues all the time that the iPhone may never go to another carrier.
Because Apple loves to be the Dominatrix i guess you could say :p And i can't imagine another provider putting up with their demands. And doesn't apple have some type of say about the data plans as well? I remember an issue with Rogers in canada and how apple made them change one of the data plans.

I'm not finding it terribly hard although I think I'm on 2-3 right now. I did kind of get bored (but I was very tired last night, slept for 12 hours) during 2-3 and just shut the machine off without saving.
White for people who don't want to know *anything* although I'm still very vague --- I found the "collection" bit in 2-2 to be horrid and really think they should have made your task use the Wii controller in some fashion instead. I also dislike the seemingly "once per world invisible thing unless you point your Wii controller at the screen" thing they have going on. Lastly there really should be some way to quickly switch between characters and Pixls. ---

The apple provided tableview cells have their own rules about size and positions of their labels and imageview. If you write a subclass and override layoutSubviews you can adjust the imageview according to your rules.

what kind of school would need the ipad over a mac or pc?

Personally I would have found it very handy during my studying years, purely due to the form factor and diary/ notepad functions.
I was as disappointed as most people when it was released, I'm still disappointed in it as a home device, but for work I can see it being very handy. I don't need to multi task in work, but it would just sit there gathering dust in the house, for me at least anyway

The harddrive shows up on my desktop but when i go to open it nothing is there?!?!?! when i look at the info it says there is not much space left ??how do i open the files to bring into max?:confused:
Have you made sure you scrolled completely up in that empty Finder window?
And what does it say under "Format" in the GET INFO window of that HDD?
Have you also taken a look into the Trash while the HDD is connected, maybe it somehow landed there?

This is the primary design flaw with the iPad. This tablet can't be the normal person's computer unless every normal person has a tech friend/relative to keep the tablet working/updated. So while Woz is correct that the tablet will be the normal person's computer, Apple's iPad is not yet that tablet.
What iPad user can't figure out how to use iTunes to sync the thing? My 65-year old mother figured out how to sync her iPod classic. How is iPad syncing any different or more complicated than what people have been doing for a decade? iPad does not require a tech genius - or 12 year old kid - to keep it working.

I am looking for the full schedule for the developer conference. Specifically, I need to know when we will be done on Friday. This will help me book my tickets back to my town. Can someone help me with this? ( If there is another thread specifically about the developer conference, please point me to that as well. )
Friday is usually the miscellaneous sessions day, when the less important (or popular I might say) sessions are held. Of course you can leave whenever you want but Friday is still a full day. I would plan on staying the entire day if you can. Leaving Saturday morning is best as you can relax on Friday :)
