Why would you even consider this at this point. After 8/17, everyone will be U, so who knows when you get to even file if you wait. You want to tack on 6months to your wait (and thats being generous), and them pay more money?

According to a recent Newsweek article, Immigrants irrespective of their legal status are actually good for the job market, and boost the economy.
Lou Dobbs, take note: immigrants are good for our economy. The most skilled create jobs in technology and engineering, says Duke professor Vivek Wadhwa, who estimates that in 2005 immigrant-founded engineering and tech companies employed 450,000 people and generated $52 billion in sales. But even the least skilled more than repay their costs in schools and health care. Two highly respected Australian economists, Maureen Rimmer and Peter Dixon, studied the issue for the libertarian Cato Institute. "The net impact on U.S. households from tighter border enforcement is unambiguously negative," they found, because even low-skilled immigrants expand the economic pie and create jobs farther up the ladder. If we have to open one more office elsewhere, do you think there are any specific requireemnts the office space must meet.
Like sq footage, cabins.. etc. Do you have any link that talks about office space wrt immigration requirements,
I am not an employer, but I got a project to look for space and this is considered important as its related to immigration requirements.

In 2004, a friend moved within the same Multinational company (A) from one business (A1) to another (A2). The HR department did not apply for an H1 transfer assuming that one was not needed, and the friend worked for a few months before the business A2 was sold off, and the new company realized the mistake, and filed for her H1 transfer, which was approved. The new company then filed for her labor and got her I-140 approved.
Can the friend now file for AOS? Was the period that she worked for A2 'unauthorized'? Does that preclude her from adjusting her status now?
I am guessing that a lot of employers/people might have made similar mistakes through no faults of their own. Whats the solution here?
