That design is just awful. Reminds me of a cheesy alienware case:

I can see at least one good reason to have another model of some form:
As an excuse to do a model release halfway during the year.
Currently during the Jan-Jun period, iPhone buyers can only choose from a single model that's six to eleven months "old", with a fairly static price.
Compare that to say, Android buyers, who always seem to have a choice of getting the latest and greatest if they want, or even buy an older model with a possibly nice discount.
Last year, Android ate iPhone sales during the above period. No doubt it will happen again this Winter and Spring. That's a LONG time to be number two (or three) in sales each year. A second iPhone model could change that.
I'm not saying I think they will do this, but it makes sales sense.

If I would leak something, I would make sure the device is clean, the camera is in focus and there is enough light.
Why are leaked images (almost) always such bad quality?
The source of the pictures said he used his new iPad 2, to take the shots!

Well windows for killing is one thing, Microsoft are well known to be evil but mac for killing? Either way I don't care what the end use is if the US army take apple on i'll be put of buying Apple stuff. It's purely political!
So I guess you will just live off the land from now on to grow your own cotton for clothes vegetables for food? You will abandon all technology including the internet (originally a military project).
http://www.darpa.mil/
As much as it pains me to say this, I agree with kdarling. Virtually every product you consume and every technology you use on a daily basis is also used by the US military and/or was originally invented for military use. Google maps was funded by the CIA when it was called Keyhole.
Have fun living off the grid.

But X Factor songs are so cheesy and naff as well.

I have heard of Folding@home at it sounds interesting. I like the idea of helping scientists with their experiments.
Unfortunately I have two problems with this.
1) Ultimately where does all this research go? Who is benefitting from it all? I can't help but think that all this research will just enable some multi-billion dollar drug company to come up with some pill that they can patent and make billions of more dollars. I tried reading the faqs of Folding@home, but it does not really say where all this research is going. I am sure the scientists mean well with their research, but ultimately they will not be the ones creating the drugs to cure these diseases. Drug companies will be doing that, and they are strictly profit oriented.
2) My electricity prices are going up by about 10% so I really don't like the idea of my iMac running 24-7 eating up electricity, and adding to the wear and tear of my system. I'm not sure what the monthly cost would be running Folding@home, but I'm sure it adds up.
Can anyone here comment on these concerns?

I think you both just said exactly the same thing, so I'm not sure why Full of Win is arguing?
If I shoot my 50mm 1.8 II through my 7d I am effectively multiplying the lenses focal length with the cameras crop factor to give the photographs field of view. ie 50x1.6=80.
So focal length 50mm= field of view 80mm. (On a 1.6 crop)
Allthough...This statement from thatisme 'So, you WILL get different focal lengths from 2 identically marked lenses where one is an EF-S lens and the other is an EF lens.' is false.
You will, in fact, get two different Field of Views but the same Focal Length.
Thanks for the correction, and good catch.
So, for the OP, the difference between EF-sand EF lenses is that EF-S are lighter and cheaper and are tied to 1.6 sensor cameras. EF is more versatile since they work on all EF mount cameras (including EF-S). They can be very cheap or very expensive(and good) when you get into L series lenses.
There is really no good reason to compare focal length or field of view between the two since construction wise, they are like apples and oranges.
Where it becomes relevant, is when you have an EF lens, and you own different format cameras ( like I do). my 400mm 2.8 L IS lens is a true 400mm on my 5D mark II, and 520mm on my 1D mark IIn (1.3) and 640mm on my old 20D. I don't really care about the EF-S mount since it only applies to one of the 3 camera bodies.
Is not true: a 50mm EF lens and a 50mm EF-s lens will have the same focal length and field of view on a crop camera.
This is not correct.
A EF-s 50 mm lens is 50 mm on a 1.6 camera. A 50mm EF lens on that same camera is similar in image to a 80mm EF-S lens. The reason for the difference comes into play by the amount of the lens the camera is using to record the image and the proximity of the rear element to the camera sensor.

I'm calling my shot.
WWDC will go down like this...
1. "The Future of Mac OS X" = Lion
2. "The Future of iOS" - iPhone 5
A lil hardware, a lil software, something for everyone. As for iOS 5, it will be previewed in April in a separate event. WWDC will set the spotlight on iPhone 5, and thus iOS 5 will not share the same stage, potentially stealing iPhone 5's thunder.
C'mon people, forget the rumors and look at what Apple has done in the past. It's not NCAA Bracketology....

If you have the 2gig plan, I wish you the best! (oh, stay away from Skype video chat and Howard Stern streaming too).
I find it so ironic that caps are the norm now and companies seem to be adding streaming services daily. It's a freight train headed in the wrong direction...data overages are becoming more and more likely.

I really like the ads. I think John Hodgeman actually makes them work though - being in the "PC" role has got to be much more difficult than the "Mac" role.
I'm planning to put his "The Areas of my Expertise..." book on my Christmas list. He read some excerpts from it on NPR a while back - hilarious!

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh I want to buy this!!!! But alas I cannot afford it at present, well it depends on if I get a 3DS next weekend or not. But having used the demo of Outlook I love it, much better then Mail IMO.
If anyone knows of a cheaper price then around 160 in the UK let me know cause that's the best I've found.
Are you in education? Or do you have children in education?
If so, then you can buy it for just under 39 from RM (www.RM.com/thebasement).
Full disclosure: I work for RM.

Considering that nearly all "Pro IT" overwhelmingly used Windows
Their entire careers depend on maintaining an OS that needs constant maintenance. Windows is inherently broken, and an entire industry grew up to take full advantage of exactly that. Too funny.

Woohoo! I have always wanted to be able to watch C-SPAN from somewhere besides my living room. Nothing will help you to fall asleep on the train better than some C-SPAN. C-SPAN 2! and 3! even better!:D
I find listening to HSN is quite entertaining actually... It's funny to watch their middle age post-C-section Real Housewives of Scranton, PA (HSN home, right?) try to fumble through presenting the latest $499 laptop from Dell. Comical... sure is funnier than anything that's come from Fox int he last 5 years, hehe.
