Please note that an I-485 approval invalidates the H-1B visa.
I would travel to the US before Advanced Parole expiry to obtain the GC and return. I am not sure of any exceptions - please post the question in 'Ask a Lawyer' section ASAP.

Option 1: you can get someone to take your photograph with a digital camera and then use Passport photos for free - ePassportPhoto.com (http://www.epassportphoto.com) to make sure that it is cropped to size and meets the size requirements. You will need to ensure that the picture is taken correctly though (without shadows, against a plain light background, etc.). You can get more details about the photo requirements from:

Option 2: You can also go to any place like Costco or Walgreens and have them take your picture and upload the scanned version of the picture.
I used Option 1 and it worked just fine.

Can anyone be kind enough to tell me how to talk to a real person at the Vermont Service center? It has been over a month since my employer received the receipt number from USCIS, but the case cannot be found online. I tried calling the number below, but the robot that talks says the same detais that I can find online.

Thanks in advance for answering my question:
I have had an EAD from past 2 years, but I also had a valid H1B I was working for company A on H1 and my GC is filed by Company B future employment(and hence the EAD)
- Company A went down last year, so I was laid off, so my H1 lapsed.
- I switched to Company B since I have an EAD through them.
- I am on Company B's payroll currently.
- The company A folks needed help after they were shutdown, I helped and was paid for hours. (doing same and similar work) but not issued a 1099...
Question - I will need to file taxes on those hours, in terms of immigration have I done anything out of ordinary here? I don't know if USCIS and IRS connecected, or I am just being paranoid here?

Looks like stage is set. People already in queue as of 07/2009 have 10 years and no one new can apply for next 10years :mad:

well if there's a way for you to get your approved labor certification doc, or even the copy of the filed labor application; then definitely get it.
The labor app has the exact job description too. So if you do use portability (ac-21) it'll help to match it with the job specs of the new position.

Read it properly before you jump. When there is no I-485 filed, where is the AC21 coming into the picture.

i have a valid H1 visa on my passport till 14th dec 2007. yesterday i got the new I-797 with I-94(I-94 dates are mentioned as 15th Dec 2007 to 14th Dec 2010). Since my visa is expiring on 14th Dec 2007, I want to go for stamping before Dec 2007 to Nogales (i have some travel plans in Jan 2008). When can i go for(how soon) stamping. I am planning to go this sept. CAn I ?????
